The 15th edition, an anniversary edition, of the IJsselland rally took place on 28 and 29 March. This special edition was driven in two days.
I was in the fortunate circumstance that I was allowed to photograph this event for two days, together with Noortje Artz (a professional photographer). View Noortje's website, she takes beautiful photos.
What a great success was the 15th edition of the IJssellandrally! No fewer than 105 teams started their cars on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 March and competed for various prizes. The real fanatics among us, in particular, felt itchy: after all, the prices do not lie. The best teams were able to win starting places for the partner rallies of the IJsselland rally.
They were long days as a photographer. From 7 a.m. in the morning to 10 p.m. in the evening. It was also a rally for us to be on time at the next location every time.
Noortje and I each had our own course. This was caused by the fact that the participants are divided into four classes:
Vintage and tour had its own route and sports and experts also had their own route.
I took around 1700 photos in two days. During the evening meetings of the participants the photos of those were already shown and in the week after the rally it was every evening behind the computer to get all photos on the website of the IJsselland Rally as quickly as possible.
As you know my passion lights with black and white photography. In the last few weeks I have made a selection of the photos and converted them into black and white photos.
I think the end result can be there. Delicious monochrome photos. It naturally ties in with the beautiful vintage cars (For war cars) that participated. Real collectables and details are no feast for the eyes.
